Connie, together with her daughter Amy, owns and operates
HOLLOW HILLS RANCH, in the foothills of the Cascade
Mountains in Molalla, OR.
There have been sheep on the ranch since the 1930s...along with
cattle, horses, hogs and chickens. Having raised wool breeds
and, wanting to cut down on the 'woolies' work load of shearing,
dealing with parasites, foot rot and such...their interests settled
on the Hair Sheep Breeds.
They purchased their first Registered St. Croix ram, Charlie, in
the mid-1990s and set about finding ewes with different
bloodlines to build their flock.
They maintain a small flock consisting of registered St. Croix
along with St. Thomas, Registered Katahdins and Registered
Dorpers.
Also in the flock are North Country Cheviots, California Reds
and several cross-bred hybrid Hair-Woolie ewes. They sell
breeding stock, market lambs and have tamed & trained several
lambs which they have given to petting zoos.
